Background & Qualifications

 

I am a Certified Professional Resume Writer, a Certified Executive Resume Master (1 of only 37 worldwide), and a Nationally Certified Online Profile Expert with 25+ years of writing and editing experience. I hold a degree in English and have written and published hundreds of articles and thousands of client documents. 

 

My writing career began when I went to work for a public relations agency straight out of college. Another agency position followed before I became a freelance writer and PR consultant. While working in public relations, I wrote content and managed relationships for a large client base of national clients, including non-profits, hospital corporations, advertising agencies, banks, Big 4 accounting firms, grocery chains, entertainment companies, and major oil and gas corporations.

 

I wrote my first resume 18 years ago when a friend asked for a favor. He got the first job he applied for, then he recommended me to his friend, so I added that service to my line-up. Two years later, I became an outplacement consultant and began writing resumes and other career documents for hundreds of people who had been laid off from major corporations across multiple industries. Before I knew it, I had written resumes for individuals in every conceivable profession and industry - from aerospace to zoology - and everything in between.

 

Today, I work exclusively with job seekers and established professionals looking to move on or move up. I belong to a dozen professional organizations and networking groups and maintain contact with numerous recruiting and outplacement agencies, HR managers, and corporate executives to be sure that I always have up-to-date knowledge regarding trends in hiring and recruiting.
